Peter I
If you haven’t heard of this brand yet, you will. It only hit the shop shelves in 2002, but it rapidly gaining popularity. Peter I is made by Japan Tobacco and is especially aimed for the Russian market, with the name and logo to honor the legendary Russian ruler Peter the Great. The packaging has the family crest of Peter the Great on it. Originally, they were sold in many colors, now the Japan Tobacco is putting out white boxes with the logo and a colored stripe. And why shouldn’t Russia be proud? Peter I cigarettes are made in Russia and other parts of Eastern Europe. The lettering is even in Russian.
Japan International hired specialists from Germany and Switzerland to blend some of the varieties. Peter I come in Regular, Mild, Light and Super Light varieties.
